About 1RugbyCoach

1Rugby Coach was set up by Neil Harmon - former Super League and Great Britain Rugby League forward. Neil played in over 300 1st grade games for several clubs including Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bulls and Warrington Wolves.

He was captain of the Leeds Rhinos in the innaugral Super League Season in 1996 and was selected for the Oceana Lions Tour to Papua New Guinnea, Fiji and New Zealand in the same year.

Between 1997 and 2000 Neil won 6 caps for Ireland and spent the off season in 1997 playing for the French Champions Villeneuve. He is a qualified Level 2 ARL Senior Club Coach and has spent 21 months putting this site together, spending time with coaches both in the UK and Australia.

In October 2008 Neil took the head coaches job for the Leeds University Rugby League team. Bearing in mind this team had not won a game the previous season, Neil, simply by applying the coaching methods on this site helped them finish top of their division and appear in the BUCS Trophy Final in March 2009. Neil stated "Any amateur coach can improve their team by applying core skill drills into their sessions and these core skill drills can be used in both rugby league and rugby union".

 TESTIMONIALS
Here's what our members are saying ...
"Hi Neil

I have found the information on your site very useful. I have recently used the 'Drop Out' drill with my senior team to improve their drop outs. The hang time is now longer and more accurate as we are now putting the ball from the restart into the oppositions 22.

Keep up the good work."

"Hi, Neil, I've been mixing a combination of your drills and advice together, with a very good outcome. Teaching it down a level and working into the advance fase, truly has put a spark in my u10 team, at Newtown, here in Qld Australia. Thank you so much keep up the great work."
